27th Annual John Gardiner Poetry Contest

27th Annual John Gardiner Poetry Contest In-Person

Prizes up to $100 Gift Certificates will be awarded in five age categories*.

Submit 1 unpublished poem with theme World of Wonders. Poem must be no more than 25 lines of text with a limit of 230 words.

Submit your poem within the body of an email to Laguna Beach Library at ocpl.lagunabeach@occr.ocgov.com. Include the following information: Name, Phone Number & Grade Level or “Adult”. No attachments, please. 

*Categories: Preschool - 2nd grade, 3rd - 5th grade, 6th - 8th grade, 9th- 12th grade, Adult

Entrants’ identities will not be revealed to contest judges.

The Reading of Winning Poems will be held at Laguna Beach Library on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11 am.

The annual contest is funded by the Friends of the Laguna Beach Library.
