Afternoon at the Movies - 12 Angry Men In-Person
“12 Angry Men was released in 1957 and was the first film for director Sidney Lumet. The movie was based on the Emmy winning TV dram by Reginald Rose and stars Henry Fonda who also produced the film. It’s a great example about how a movie can use one location and make it suspenseful, dramatic, comedic and exciting without seeming to be boring. A slew of familiar character actors join Fonda as they deliberate a murder in the courts of New York City. Shot on location in New York City, the film was not a hit when it came out but is considered a classic today and an accurate depiction of the jury system at the time.
