Afternoon at the Movies - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid In-Person
The film is based on the real outlaws Robert Leroy Parker aka Butch Cassidy and Harry Longabaugh aka The Sundance Kid. Redford named his film institute and festival based in Utah after his character, Sundance. Butch’s younger sister, Lula Parker came to visit the set while they were shooting. The screenplay by William Goldman was bought by Twentieth Century Fox for $400,000, the highest that had ever been paid at the time for a script.
