Afternoon at the Movies - Thin Man In-Person
The 1934 film, adapted from the bestselling novel by Dashiell Hammett, was the first of 6 films in the series involving Nick and Nora Charles with their dog Asta. The Wire Foxed Terrier was so popular with the public, the studio had to hire a secretary just to respond to all of his fan mail. Asta was being paid $200 a week more than his trainer who was only getting $60 a week.
